(FOX Providence) - The Rhode Show is going green and talking about some of thelatest technology for electric vehicles and the first chargingstation in the state.
The Rhode Show: Nick, tell us about the upcomingevent and what you’re revealing.
Nick Cardi: This Friday, August 27 at 10:00 am,we're unveiling RI’s first public car charging station at theRoute 2 West Warwick Cardi’sFurniture location. It looks like a drive in movie speaker setup. Other states such as New York and California have these forrental vehicles, this one is for people who own electric vehiclesand need a boost throughout the day. Best of all, there will be nocost until 2012.
The Rhode Show: That’s great. Peter, tell mea bit about Arpin Renewable Energy.
The Rhode Show: Peter, Cardi’s and Arpinhave worked on a few projects together, relief drives for HurricaneKatrina and the Haiti earthquake. It seems like you guys have agreat partnership.
Peter Arpin: We do, both family businesses, RIcompanies, and a really cool thing about this project, it’sall been privately funded and with the long range goals, our hopeis to reduce the state’s carbon footprint. There’s alsobeen some great work done by Al Dalhberg of Brown University andproject get ready, all the info is online and of course, people areinvited to the unveiling Friday, August 27th at 10 am.
