(FOX Providence) - A very special organization in Providence is continuing to grow and looking to hire more than a dozen people.
"The people who work here are incredibly gifted incredibly professional and incredibly compassionate," said John Kelly, President and CEO of Meeting Street .
The organization helps kids of all ages and abilities to succeed.
"We know here to make a child thrive or to help a child thrive, we really have to be working with the entire family."
The organization was started 65 years ago by Dr. Eric Denhoff and Margaret Langdon. Now, Meeting Street employs more than 225 people and serves nearly 3,000 families every year.
"One of the things Dr. Denhoff and Langdon really focused on was getting in there and being able to have these early interventions and this impact on children, so it would help them later in life."
Kelly said the need in the community for an organization like this is greater now more than ever.
"It's more need. They're new positions and its more need. We've been seeing tremendous growth in the number of referrals we're getting from young children. I think a lot of it is there are more and more kids out there with additional needs and I also think there are more families undergoing stress."
Meeting Street employees can take advantage of some great benefits like discounted schooling for their children, tuition reimbursement, health, dental, life insurance and an aggressive vacation policy.
"We are a value based organization. Our values are respect, integrity, compassion, inclusivity, and excellence - and who doesn't want that in their life?"
