(FOX Providence) - For one local real estate company, the only way to cover the Ocean State is by expanding.
Lila Delman Real Estate has recently opened their Providence location. And with a new office, comes a new design, unlike any other Lila Delman branch.
"We thought it would be great to have something that's more cosmopolitan and contemporary. So, we have an office that has much cleaner lines, we're still in a great area here in Wayland Square, but it has a little bit more of a capital kind of look to it, so we thought it was important to blend into the atmosphere," said John Hodnett, Principal Broker and Co-Owner of Lila Delman Real Estate.
Although some things have changed, like the design of the building. Their service remains the same.
"They're going to get the same great service, the tremendous internet exposure that we offer, the top end marketing, same as it's always been, just a different location," added Hodnett.
Providence is a trendy city, and when it comes to housing, it's no different. One trend in particular, homes that are eco-friendly.
"They want energy efficient appliances, they're looking for lighting that is energy efficient. Things that they can walk to schools or libraries or restaurants," said Jeni Pardo De Zela, Marketing Director of Lila Delman Real Estate.
Green elements aren't just in the homes Lila Delman is selling, but throughout their new office as well.
The floors are bamboo, so they're a renewable resource and all of the lighting is LED lighting," added Pardo De Zela.
Down sizing is another popular trend. Or what Jeni likes to call "right-sizing".
"They're actually purchasing properties that work better for their actual family lifestyle, so a family of two doesn't necessarily need a mansion, they may be very comfortable in a two bedroom condo in Providence's East Side."
Their goal is to bridge the gap between those living by the ocean and living in the busy streets of Providence, with their new slogan, "From the coast to the capital, you're home."
