PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- New government data shows that the Ocean State ranks in the middle of the pack nationally when it comes to graduating high schoolers.
According to the U.S. Department of Education's first-ever list of state-by-state graduation rates, 77 percent of fourth-year Rhode Island high schoolers walked across the stage last year.
That percentage ties the state for 30th in the country, and it's the lowest rate of the six New England States.
Neighboring Massachusetts is tied for 11th place at 83 percent.
