EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- East Providence police have wrapped up their investigation into a suspicious package, which was found at a Citizens Bank office building Monday afternoon.
Police said they tested several substances that were found in the package, and found that most were not considered a threat to the public. They were unable to classify one of the substances, so it was turned over to the state police at the state fire marshal's office for further study.
Investigators said that employees will be allowed back into the Tripps Lane building on Tuesday.
Providence police also responded to a similar call Monday night on Broad Street. It's not clear at this time if the two incidents are related.
