PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police in Providence are searching for a suspect after the Bank of America on Charles Street was robbed at gunpoint Thursday.
It happened at 9:18 a.m. when a man displayed a handgun and immediately demanded money in a "loud, threatening manner, stating several times "Give me the large! Give me the large!"
Police said eyewitnesses described the suspect as a black or Hispanic male, approximately 6'0"-6'2", medium to heavy build, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and a knit, dark-colored mask. Police said he was also wearing a backpack and one glove on his left hand.
The investigation revealed that the suspect moved between multiple tellers to obtain the money.
Surveillance video showed the suspect fleeing on foot to Charles Street to an unknown destination.
According to officials, one customer was treated briefly on scene for emotional distress, but was not taken to the hospital for treatment.
