This week on Executive Suite: Mark Blyth, professor of international political economy at Brown University.
Blyth has just released a new book, "Austerity: The History of a Dangerous Idea," that argues governments around the world are making a fatal mistake by cutting spending and raising taxes in response to the economic downturn. His ideas have already gotten international attention since his video about austerity went viral back in 2010.
Blyth, a native of Scotland, joined Brown in 2009 after teaching at The Johns Hopkins University. He discusses his new book's ideas, responds to his critics, talks about how his own upbringing shaped his views and also what Rhode Island can learn from his research.
