Gregory A. Porcaro has been the principal in charge of all tax, business valuation, and business consulting services for Otrando, Porcaro & Associates, Ltd., a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Warwick, RI since 1987.
He has been serving as a professor of taxation in the Bryant University Graduate School's Master of Taxation Program since 1990.
He has written articles which were published in recognized professional periodicals, such as the Journal of Accountancy and The Tax Adviser and has co-authored a tax planning guide for Limited Liability Companies and Qualified S Corporation Subsidiaries, in addition to various technical resource books on the subjects of Divorce Tax Planning, Estate Tax Planning and Business Valuation. Greg currently serves as an editorial advisor for nationally recognized technical tax periodical.
In addition, he is a frequent lecturer on a variety of tax and business valuation issues for state and national accounting associations and is a frequent guest on the RI Society of CPAs tax planning television shows, which air on local public television. Rhode Island's major newspaper "The Providence Journal" often refers to Greg for input on financial and income tax stories for publication.
Greg is a Past President of the RI Society of CPAs, the past chair of the AICPA's S Corporation Technical Resource Panel, and a former member of its Tax Executive Committee. He is also an officer of the RI Estate Planning Council and the RI Society of Financial Service Professionals.
In 2008, Greg was selected as one of the top 50 IRS Practioners in the country. In 2002, Greg was voted "Accountant Advocate of the Year" by the RI Small Business Administration.
Greg earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and his master's degree in taxation from Bryant University and has earned the designation Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
