SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) -- Halloween trick-or-treating is a go Saturday night in South Kingstown.

Town officials urged residents to postpone Halloween activities - normally celebrated on Wednesday - until Saturday because of the extensive damage and power outages left by Hurricane Sandy.

In a warning posted on the town's website, residents are urged to be careful if they're out Saturday night.  Although National Grid has restored power to most Rhode Islanders who lost it, there are still scattered outages in town.

In Westerly, town officials also postponed Halloween because of storm damage, also pushing it back to Saturday.  The Halloween stroll sponsored by the Westerly Substance Abuse Task Force and the Downtown Business Assosication is taking place downtown between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
