WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Islanders are coming together to help areas that were hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy.
Hundreds of boxes and bags full of clothes and shoes are now headed to New Jersey for hurricane victims after a clothing drive was held in Warwick Thursday night.
Jessica Schiano organized the drive, but said she never imagined how big the response would be calling the outpouring of support "overwhelming."
Donations filled an entire U-Haul truck, with more piling up in the parking lot of Tavern 12.
Schiano enlisted several of her friends as volunteers to sort and bag all of the items so they were ready to be transported to the victims.
