BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) – Two local college students from New Jersey are doing their part to try and help victims of hurricane Sandy in their hometowns.

Roger Williams University students Kimberly Sanders and Mary Rooney’s neighborhoods were completely destroyed after Sandy hit.

The girls have formed a group called RWU Combats Sandy and are reaching out to other local New Jersey students in Rhode Island to try and raise money to donate to American Red Cross.

The group has also come up with a Facebook page. It’s called RWU Combats Sandy.
