The PawSox turned in a lackluster effort on Sunday night in Buffalo, losing to the last place Bisons. 9-3.
The loss, coupled with Scrantons' split of a doubleheader, moves the PawSox two full games out of first in the North. Terrible defense (3 errors) shaky pitching and a lack of timely hitting, lead to the defeat for Pawtucket. (66-56).
Mauro Gomez belted his twenty-third home run for the PawSox. It came in the eighth inning. Che-Hsuan Lin, Gomez, and Nate Spears had multi- hit games for the Sox. Starter and loser Zach Stewart (3-3) lasted just 3 innings.
The only PawSox reliever who pitched well was Andrew Bailey. The ML rehabber (thumb) retired all four batters he faced. He had one strikeout.
The road trip wraps up on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. Chris Hernandez ((1-2) faces Collin McHugh (1-4).
