FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) - Ryan Westmoreland achieved his dream last year.  He was picked up by a Major League Baseball organization, and it just happened to be the one he grew up loving -- the Boston Red Sox.

And after suffering a broken colarbone ended his minor league season last year, he's on the rebound already getting prepared for 2010 in Florida.

"I've been doing a lot of rehab," Westmoreland said earlier this winter before he headed for Florida.  "And hopefully I'll be 100 percent by spring training."

The offseason did bring a new accolate to Westmoreland.  Baseball America named him the top prospect in the organization.

"It's an honor to be recognized," Westmoreland said. "But the way I see it is that it really doesn't mean much if you don't produce.  It really all comes down to how you play."

And with any luck, Westmoreland may be playing in Pawtucket sometime this season.
