KINGSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - University of Rhode Island pitcher Tim Boyce was selected in the 44th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Seattle Mariners last week.
Boyce was the Atlantic 10 pitcher of the year throwing over 100 innings this season and finishing with a 3.55 ERA.
"I know Seattle's been watching me for a couple of years," Boyce said. "I went to a tryout this summer, so I know they've been watching me for a while."
