PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- It was a great weekend for Providence College hoops fans and alumni as past stars came back to town for some fun events and a golf tournament.

It was the brain child of former PC stars Sean Holley and Dickie Simpkins to keep former players, old and new, attached to the program.

"There's been a strong brotherhood with the Providence family," Holley told Eyewitness Sports during the golf event.

"The way it's been received has been excellent. We couldn't have asked for more," Simpkins added.

The players said some of their favorite experiences of the weekend have been just getting to better know the other generations and hearing stories from their college experiences.

"There are so many great players that played at Providence that I heard about but never officially met," said Ryan Gomes. "I think this is such a great event for us to get together, bond together, and share the history that Providence has."
