PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Sean McGonagill scored 20 points and three other Brown players scored in double figures in a 65-51 win over Yale on Saturday night.
Matt Sullivan finished with 13 points for the Bears (7-8, 1-0 Ivy League), who have won three straight games. Stephen Albrecht scored 11 points and Rafael Maia added 10.
Brown did not have much trouble with Yale, claiming a 33-24 halftime lead. McGonagill knocked down a 3-pointer with 14:35 left in the second half to give the Bears a 49-28 lead — their largest of the game.
Yale cut the deficit to seven points with just under 10 minutes remaining. But the Bulldogs (6-12, 0-1) were unable to pull closer, as Brown answered with an 11-2 run to give itself enough cushion with a 60-44 lead with 3:16 left.
Greg Kelley was the only Yale player to score in double figures with 11 points.
