PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - As the Providence College Friars struggle through this season sitting at the bottom of the Big East Conference, their future looks much brighter.  Two of biggest recruits in the nation are set to put on a Friars' uniform next season, and they both played prep games in Rhode Island last weekend.

Providence native and South Kent School shooting guard Ricky Ledo was just selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic, an all-star game where some of the country's top recruits face-off.

Ledo tells Eyewitness Sports that he's just trying to continue to get better before beginning college.

"I'm just trying to become the best player I can be," said Ledo. "I just want to help my team win a national championship."

"Ricky can really shoot the ball and he's an underrated passer," PC head coach Ed Cooley said.

Playing with Ledo at the Jordan Classic will be Kris Dunn, a point guard from New London High School in Connecticut.  And over the weekend, Dunn played his prep game at Alumni Hall in front of a packed house of Friars' fans who are ready to cheer him on next season.

"A lot of fans came out to see me," said Dunn. "It was a great feeling today."

"[Dunn] is really going to bring a lot of excitement to Friartown," added Cooley. "And having Ricky and Kris in the Jordan game just sells Providence at another level. It shows that great things could happen here, and, hopefully, that's just the beginning of many more to come."
