Duren's 21 lead La Salle over URI 80-66

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Tyreek Duren scored 21 points and every La Salle starter reached double figures as the Explorers defeated Rhode Island 80-66 Saturday in an Atlantic 10 Conference game.

Earl Pettis added 19 points, Jerrell Wright had 17 and Ramon Galloway and Sam Mills scored 10 apiece for the Explorers (14-6, 3-2), who made 56.6 percent of their shots (30 of 53) to 43.3 percent (29 of 67) for the Rams (3-17, 0-5).

A 15-0 run gave La Salle a 29-13 first-half lead, but Rhode Island answered with a 16-3 run of its own, and the game was tied 35-35 at halftime.

Duren opened the second half with a 3-pointer for the Explorers, who led the rest of the way.

Jonathan Holton scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for Rhode Island, and Andre Malone had 15 points.

La Salle is unbeaten in its last 12 home games, including 10 this season.
