MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Chris Wilcox of the Boston Celtics is giving back to residents of South Carolina's Grand Strand.

Wilcox is a native of Whiteville, N.C., not far from the South Carolina state line.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that Wilcox delivered a pickup truck full of food to the Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach food bank on Thursday.

Wilcox hosts a golf tournament at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club on Friday to help raise money in the fight against the disease Lupus.

Wilcox says he simply wanted to reach out to a center where he could donate food to help the less fortunate. He says he knows there are a lot of people less fortunate and he's in a position to help.
