PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Republican congressional candidate Brendan Doherty visited various polling places across the Ocean State Tuesday, as he looks to unseat Rep. David Cicilline.
The first-time politician is hoping to make history in Congressional District 1, which hasn't seen a Republican representative in two decades.
It's been hard-fought campaign for Doherty and the poll numbers show it. In the most recent Eyewitness News poll, he had pulled within only one point of his opponent.
