The storm hit hard and fast with many areas seeing downed trees, wind damage and intense flooding from bursts of heavy rain.

In North Kingstown, neighbors describe a fierce wind that struck in minutes knocking over trees. Luckily no one was hurt.

Street flooding in East Providence along route 114 south slowed cars whose drivers attempted to go through several inches of water, and backed up traffic for those who feared the floods.

At Catamore Blvd., at the intersection with Route 6, the heavy rain left serious flooding

While in Portsmouth, thunder and lightning brought heavy rain and localized street flooding.

In Fall River, at Saint Anne's Hospital, the Fire Chief says water flooded the emergency room, forcing an evacuation of about 20 patients to higher ground

Just up the road at the Fountain Commons apartment building where 45 families with children live, they are in a black out with no electricity. The city fire inspector says a fire watch in place just in case.
