SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) - A teenager who was struck by a car, then run over by a school bus, remains in serious condition.

15-year-old Justin Charron was rushed to Hasbro Children's Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

He was riding his bicycle on Bark Street in Swansea, when he collided with a car, then wound up beneath an oncoming school bus.

Police say Charron was wearing headphones when he was struck, and was not wearing a helmet.

Friends tell Eyewitness News that Charron lost a leg as a result of the accident.

No charges have been filed.  Police believe the crash happened accidentally.
