NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) - The Bristol County Mosquito Control Project is going to spray for mosquitoes this weekend.
This week, the Dept. of Public Health detected EEE and West Nile Virus in mosquito samples in New Bedford and West Nile Virus in Fall River.
The spraying in New Bedford will take place Saturday, September 11, between the hours of 2:00am and 7:00am. The areas that will be targeted are North of Wamsutta Street, East of Acushnet Avenue, South of Nash Road, and West of the Acushnet River; and Brooklawn Park.
The spraying in Fall River will take place in the area of Oak Grove Cemetery, Saturday, September 11, between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
As a precaution, all residents who live in the area should keep their windows closed and refrain from going outside during those hours.
