SICUTATE, R.I. (WPRI) -- State Police say a drunk driver hit one of their cruisers overnight, and a suspected drunk driver was seriously injured in a separate wreck.

State Police tell Eyewitness News that one of their cars was stopped on Route 37 West at Exit 1B Saturday morning when another car struck it.  Troopers stopped that car, a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, nearby and arrested 19 year-old Shannon Hawkins of Glocester.  Hawkins will be charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and possession of marijuana.

Nobody was hurt in that crash.

State Police also report that they responded to an overnight rollover crash in Exeter that sent a woman to the hospital.  It happened at about 2 a. m. on Route 165.  The driver, 29 year-old Ashley McVeigh, was ejected from her vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

McVeigh will be charged with reckless driving and investigators plan to subpoena her medical records at her eventual court arraignment and possibly charge her with drunk driving.
