WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) — Police say an autopsy has ruled out foul play in the death of a man whose body was found this week in the Blackstone River.
But The Woonsocket Call reports Sgt. Matthew Ryan says a cause of death has not yet been determined. Toxicology test results are not expected for several weeks.
The man had not been identified as of Wednesday. A message was left for Ryan Thursday.
A passerby spotted the body Tuesday morning in the river near South Main and River streets in Woonsocket.
Firefighters retrieved it, and turned it over to the medical examiner's office.
While police initially said the person was a teenager, they now say the man appears to have been in his 20s.
