PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – A local woman is facing charges after she allegedly slashed a teenage girl in the face.

Pawtucket police tell Eyewitness News that it happened in January near the corner of Barton Street and Dexter Street.

The attack was caught on surveillance video.

According to police 23-year-old Nichole Harrison allegedly got out of the passenger seat of a car walked up to the teenage girl, swung at her twice with a knife then got back into the car and left.

Police arrested Harrison on Monday. She has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to the police report, Harrison told officers that her motive for the slashing stemmed from a brawl that happened last year.

Harrison has been released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
