PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has announced they are nearly ready to open the second span of the new Pawtucket River Bridge.
Officials say the opening could come as early as Friday.
That means the 18-ton weight limit would be lifted as well.
"This is an important step in this project, one that benefits the State, the City of Pawtucket and all highway users," says RIDOT Director Michael Lewis
