Missing man found dead in Woonsocket

61-year-old declared missing Tuesday morning

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Woonsocket man that was reported missing Tuesday has been found dead by police.

Police were searching for Andre Genereux, 61, of Wilson Avenue, after his wife had reported him missing just after noon.

Officers said they found his body fully immersed in the water on the shoreline of the Blackstone River, in Woonsocket's River Island Park.

Genereux was declared dead on the scene, and police say his death did not appear to be suspicious.
