PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - Police are reportedly investigating the theft of a bronze plaque from a monument commemorating the former Leroy Theater in Pawtucket.

The Providence Journal reports that police are asking local scrap yards to keep an eye out for the missing plaque.

The monument is located at the corner of Exchange and Broad Street where the Leroy Theater once stood.

The theater was torn down in 1997.
