PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) -- The Pawtucket toymaker Hasbro Inc. is collecting more than 25,000 toys and games for distribution during the holiday season to children and families in need in Rhode Island.

Employee volunteers with the company will sort through the items on Monday at a warehouse in Woonsocket. The company runs an annual "Gift of Play" donation program.

The company says the children who will receive the toys are involved with or get assistance from the state Department of Human Services or the state Department of Children, Youth and Families.

Last year, Hasbro says it donated more than 400,000 toys and games during the holidays to children worldwide.
