PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- A man wanted in connection with an Election Day shooting in Pawtucket was arrested in Massachusetts Thursday.

On November 6, officers were called to the area of 558 Smithfield Avenue around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting. They came upon a man who had suffered several gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as Terrance Myers, 28, of Providence. He told police he was at a Weeden Street residence to settle a dispute with someone that lives there, when an altercation broke out involving as many as six males.

Myers said he was shot during the incident and fled to Smithfield Avenue.

After an investigation, Pawtucket Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Marcus Lopes, 20, of Pawtucket.

Police said Lopes was arrested November 29 by members of the Revere, Mass. Police Department.

Lopes waived extradition to Rhode Island.

He faced a judge Friday on several charges, including assault with the intent to murder. He's being held on $50,000 bail with surety and is due back in court on February 1.
