LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) -- According to Rhode Island State Police, a husband and a wife were both charged with driving under the influence after they were stopped separately on the same night over the weekend.
Troopers arrested Stephanie Souza, 43, of Warwick around 9:25 p.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on I-95 South in Cranston. Her blood alcohol level was .145.
Less than two hours later, her husband Michael Souza, 44, also of Warwick, was arrested for driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .191.
Troopers confronted Souza after they saw him drive in a restricted area behind the Lincoln Woods Barracks. Souza had driven to the barracks to pick up his wife following her arrest.
Both were arraigned and released to a family member.
