PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A hearing at which Central Falls' former mayor was expected to plead guilty to a corruption charge has been postponed.

The U.S. Attorney's office says a change-of-plea hearing scheduled for Wednesday for Charles Moreau has been pushed back to Nov. 19 because of a scheduling conflict. Moreau is accused of taking gifts from a political supporter who got a lucrative city contract.

Michael Bouthillette had also been scheduled to plead guilty. Bouthillette received a no-bid contract to board up houses in the city and has acknowledged in court papers paying for part of a furnace and doing repair work on Moreau's former homes. The new hearing date for Bouthillette is also Nov. 19.

Moreau stepped down on Sept. 19 and agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge of accepting gifts.
