WESTERLY, RI (WPRI) - Westerly police have arrested a woman who they say has been living in the country illegally for more than a decade.

The Westerly Sun reports that officers arrested 53-year-old Luz Maria Perez-Acevedo Monday after a warrant was issued for her.

She owns an Ashaway antiques shop and a housecleaning service in Westerly.

Immigration officials say she has been living under a false name.

She was previously deported in 1999 and is now in federal custody.
