SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI)- A popular oceanfront business has reopened it's doors, just days after it was slammed by a storm surge.

Ocean Mist is serving up drinks again despite long odds that the bar would survive Hurricane Sandy.

Owner Kevin Finnegan says the bar has been through 4 hurricanes but this was the worst.

After the storm, social media blew up with concerns about the bar. Finnegan says he can't believe the support.

Volunteers armed with saws and hammers went to work fixing the place and 4 days later, the Ocean Mist reopened.

Plenty of other businesses remain closed after facing Sandy's wrath, Finnegan says he considers himself lucky.
