SOUTH KINGSTOWN (WPRI) - The driver of a car was killed Monday morning after the victim's car collided with a concrete truck in South Kingstown.
Emergency crews were called to Usquepaugh Road - near the intersection of Routes 138 and 2 - for reports of a serious accident around 10:20 a.m..
According to Captain Jeffrey Allen, a truck from "Heritage Concrete" collided with a car, killing the car's driver.
Allen said in an effort to avoid the collision, the concrete truck rolled over. The driver of that vehicle was treated and released.
"I saw the woman come down and I asked her what was wrong and she said, 'My husband, my husband,' and then I asked her are you okay, are you alright? And she said, 'No, my husband, my husband,'" said Shelia Place.
Police have not released the identities of either of the people involved.
The State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit is assisting in the investigation, Allen said.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
