Police investigate bank robbery in N.K.

Suspect is still at large

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) -- A bank robbery occurred in North Kingstown Wednesday afternoon.

North Kingstown police are investigating a robbery that took place at Bank Newport on Ten Rod Road in North Kingstown. According the the report, a white male presented a note which demanded money to one of the tellers. No weapon was shown.

After the teller complied, the suspect fled the bank heading north toward Ten Rod Road.

The suspect was described as an approximately 5'10" white male, medium build and unshaven. He was wearing a gray knit winter cap and a dark overcoat.
