RI trooper's son indicted for robbery

Accused of holding up store at gunpoint

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) -- The son of a high-ranking member of the Rhode Island State Police has been indicted for allegedly committing an armed robbery back in May.

Samuel Lemont, 18, son of RI State Police Captain John Lemont, is charged with one count of first-degree robbery.

Lemont is accused of robbing the Sunnybrook Farms convenience store on Main Street in East Greenwich at gunpoint.

He's scheduled to be arraigned next month.
