COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Coventry teen has been pronounced dead following an overnight car crash.
Police tell us Douglas Auger, 18, a recent graduate of Coventry High School, was driving on Fish Hill Road at about midnight Thursday when his car went off the road and struck a tree.
Emergency crews were able to pull Auger from the vehicle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
Officers are now investigating the cause of the crash.
Councilors will be available at Coventry High School on Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. until noon.
