CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - Organizers of the annual Rhythm and Roots music festival in Charlestown said they were keeping a close eye on Hurricane Earl Thursday.

Meteorologist Pete Mangione said Tropical storm conditions were likely across much of Rhode Island late Friday into early Saturday. However, organizers said the festival was tentatively still on.

"We always work with our fans best interests in mind," said organizer Mary Bridette. "We are looking at every possible way to make sure the show goes on."

Bridette said festival-goers could check the website for any updates. They hope to have a better idea of what will happen Thursday night.
