CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - An early morning fire has destroyed a ranch style home on Beach Road in Charlestown.

Fire officials tell us a passerby noticed the fire shortly before 9 a.m.

When crews arrived they were faced with heavy smoke and flames.

No one was injured, but we're told the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
