WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Warwick school officials say they're investigating why some Gorton Junior High School students had to wait nearly three hours for a bus home from field trip to Boston last week.
The school district's director of secondary education, Dennis Mullen, told The Providence Journal that the students traveled to the Museum of Science in Boston last Friday on a bus operated by First Student, which has the contract for Warwick's school bus service.
Mullen says school officials are looking into where the bus parked after dropping off the students and any other issues that would have caused it to be so late.
Parents say teachers on the trip took good care of the students and bought them dinner while they waited for the bus.
