RI Airport Corp. appoints president

Florida pilot will run TF Green Airport

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) -- The Rhode Island Airport Corp. has hired a pilot to serve as president and chief executive.
   
The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/yXauJR ) that Kelly Fredericks, of Boca Raton, Fla., was appointed on Wednesday.

The 52-year-old civil engineer and private pilot will be paid $255,000 a year to run T.F. Green Airport and five smaller state-owned airports.
   
Fredericks works for the Corradino Group in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as program manager overseeing design and construction of a terminal and an 8,000-foot runway at Fort Lauderdale-Holly-wood International Airport.
   
He begins his job at Green on April 8.
   
Fredericks said he hopes to build relationships at the airport and the community to boost the economic impact of the airports.
