CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The Red Sox Foundation made a special delivery to Cranston on Tuesday.
As part of the team's 100 Acts of Kindness Campaign, it's helping out The Gotta Have Sole Foundation. The two-year-old project was created by 14-year-old Cranston resident, Nick Lowinger.
The Gotta Have Sole Foundation collects new shoes and donates them to children at area homeless shelters. Through his work, Nick has given away more than 5,500 pairs of sneakers in 11 states in the U.S.
The 100 pairs he just received from New Balance and the Red Sox will soon be on the feet of local children in need.
