WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - After seeing himself on the news, the suspect accused of abandoning a dog outside the city's animal shelter has turned himself in to authorities, police said.
According to officers, the male English Bulldog was tied up outside the gate, and left without food or water for several hours, back on January 7.
Shelter officials say he is a senior dog, visually impaired, and showed signs of neglect.
The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned on February 13.
