WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – Gorton Junior High School is one step closer to closing.

On Wednesday, Warwick’s Director of Elementary Education recommended the closure of the school.

Robert Bushell says under the recommendation, faculty and students would be moved to Aldrich and Winman Junior High Schools.

The plan still needs approval by the school committee to go into effect.
