EXETER, R.I. (WPRI) - Fire crews in Exeter responded to a house fire Sunday evening.
Fire officials confirm to Eyewitness News that they were called to a home at 325 William Reynolds road at about 5:30 PM Sunday for a reported fire.
An elderly couple was forced out of the home by the fire and was transported to South County Hospital for evaluation. Reports from the scene indicated they were suffering from smoke inhalation.
Crews managed to get the fire under control by about 8:30 PM. The cause remains under investigation and firefighters remained on the scene afterwards.
