TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The family of a Tiverton man killed in a hit and run crash is asking the public for help tracking down the suspect and an eyewitness.
John Kieron, 70, was struck by a car at the corner of Main Rd. and Hilton St. Nov. 23, 2011.
He passed away Friday, Feb. 3 after being removed from life support at Rhode Island Hospital.
On Friday, his family held a news conference at the Tiverton police station.
One of Kieron's daughters, Tanya, says, "We need to find evidence and bring this to a close. My family is devastated and we need to find what happened."
Investigators say the suspect was driving a light-colored, four door sedan and was last seen heading toward Fall River. There may be damage to the passenger's side mirror and the passenger's side of the vehicle itself.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Tiverton Police at 401-625-6716.
