R.I. native wins Rock 'n' Roll half-marathon

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- Thousands of runners laced up and hit the streets for the second annual "Rock N' Roll Half Marathon" Sunday.

Providence hosted the race again this year, with nearly five thousand runners taking off on a 13.1 mile journey through the capital city.

Cheering fans lined the street and there was live music at ever mile marker.

The fun filled course attracts runners from around the globe.

Christian Hesch, from Hollywood, Calif., took home the top spot with a time of 1:07:05.

Rhode Island native Stephanie Pezzullo was the top female finisher in a time of 1:15:17.
