PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An attorney for a United Arab Emirates naval officer is set to continue cross examining a Filipino servant who prosecutors say worked for the military officer in the United States for long hours and without pay.

Defense attorney Robert Corrente is scheduled to continue his questioning of Elizabeth Cabitla Ballesteros in U.S. District Court in Providence on Tuesday. The woman is testifying in the trial of Col. Arif Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Al-Ali.

Al-Ali has pleaded not guilty to charges that he lured the Ballesteros to the U.S., failed to pay her and kept her confined in his house. Prosecutors have said she eventually escaped and went into hiding.

The woman became emotional and wiped tears from her eyes while testifying Monday that she feared Al-Ali.
